This site is a tribute to Ken Jones, who was born in Rhyl on April 28, 1934 where he lived for 87 years.
He is much loved and will always be remembered by his loving family, former colleagues at Point of Ayr Colliery, Musicians of Rhyl Silver and Point of Ayr brass bands, Sunny Rhyl & East Parade Bowling clubs and many other organisations and dear friends in the Rhyl area.
Ken was passionate about supporting the local community especially those in need through illness or disability and young people of all abilities.
Founding Point of Ayr junior band and conducting them for many years, Ken developed many fine musicians under his leadership and mentoring who went on to play at the highest level.
A Generous and Kind Gentleman, Ken actively worked in supporting and making regular donations to local charities throughout his life and this meant a great deal to him.
His loving wife Myrtle together with the children of both families would highly appreciate that in tribute to Ken's memory, donations be made to Ty Gobaith Cymru (Hope House Hospices) to support their tremendous work with young people in North Wales and also local Hospice St Kentigern in St Asaph.
